Cedar clearing.
Take the cedar. Keep the oaks. Get the water back.

Ashe juniper drinks hard and shades out everything under it. Mulching it in place is the fastest way to open a cedar-choked tract.
Water and grass
A mature cedar pulls a serious amount of water out of the ground and drops a litter mat nothing else grows through. Take it out and the grass and the hardwood seedlings come back on their own.
Selective by species
The point is not to clear everything. We take the juniper and leave the live oak, the post oak and whatever else you mark.
Dense stands mulch well
Cedar goes through a mulcher cleanly and leaves a thick, fragrant mulch layer. It is slower per acre than scattered brush, so dense stands run closer to a day an acre.
Cedar does not resprout
Unlike mesquite, Ashe juniper cut below the lowest green does not come back from the stump. Mulching it is close to permanent.
Cedar clearing questions.
- Thick, mature cedar can be about an acre a day. Scattered cedar in open pasture goes several times faster. Photos are how we tell which you have.
Other work we do.
Good land. Clear possibilities.
Send photos of the brush and the gate, and tell us what you want the land to do. We come back with an approach and a day-rate ballpark.
Send tract photos.
Brush, the gate, and anything you want kept. Add the town and rough acreage and we call you back with a day range and an approach.
- We look at density, access and ground conditions.
- You get a day-rate range, not a per-acre guess.
- If it is not a job for our crew, we say so.
